Betting Tip: Arizona Cardinals -7.00 (AH)
The landscape of the 2021 NFL season is beginning to take shape and we are definitely seeing which teams are on the rise to the top and which ones will not. At the beginning, it was a bit hard to separate between the frauds and the true contenders, especially after the first three games. However, by week 4, you’d really begin to see which teams are for real, and those that have questions.
Heading into week 5 of the NFL games, the Cardinals are the only NFL team without any single defeat. But can the Cards continue to keep their good run? While the Niners haven’t been too impressive lately (2-2), they’ve enjoyed a decent record against the Cardinals, managing to get 3 wins in their last four meetings. Still, judging by their betting odds, we expect to see another win for Kingbury’s boys.
The Cardinals starting quarterback, Kyler Murray looks unstoppable and is now the top favorite player to win the NFL MVP award at +500 at many online bookmakers. Before the beginning of the season, Murray wasn’t anywhere near the top of that list, with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes being the pre-season faves.
However, Kyler Murray started the season in top gear, managing to make 1,273 passing yards for 9 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. Thanks to Murray’s output, Arizona has managed to score 140 so far, which is more than any other NFL team in the league.
The Cards have also been exceptional in defense, only giving out 85 points so far. While this isn’t the league’s best, you need to keep in mind that they have faced some of the toughest opponents since the start of the season including the Titans, Jaguars, Vikings and Rams.
BetUS has some of the best odds for this upcoming NFC West battle. For spread, the Niners have odds +5.5 with the Cardinals priced at -5.5. On the Moneyline, the 49ers have +210 with the Cardinals given -250.
Despite the odds, the Niners are in a desperate need for a win. Right now, the 49ers are 2-2. Even though this might not look too bad, however, they have already lost a game to one divisional rival. This happened last weekend after losing 28-21 to the Seahawks. It was their second straight defeat and should they lose again, there is a danger that their morale would plummet.
Scheduled to face the Cardinals on Sunday, sadly, the 49ers have some injury concerns in the offense. Their star player QB Jimmy Garappolo appears to be struggling with an injury, meaning that there’s a likelihood of rookie Trey Lance taking his place.
